Dry Needling
Dry needling involves the insertion of a very thin needle similar to those used in acupuncture into a specific area of sensitive tissue to treat pain. It produces changes in our nervous system which help to inhibit the transmission of pain signals and increase the release of our own pain relieving chemicals. It is used to treat a range of conditions, including spinal pain and a number of upper and lower limb conditions.
If you have musculoskeletal or nerve pain, dry needling may be an appropriate treatment intervention for you. The Health Professionals who practice dry needling have appropriate training and qualifications and will discuss any risks with you. This treatment incurs a small out of pocket fee.
