Meet Dr Ramin Kousary
Dr Ramin obtained his medical degree from the University of Guayaquil in Ecuador. He is currently one of the Senior Medical Officers at Laidley Hospital. He joined the team in 2018 and has a surgical background with a special interest and experience in skin surgery.
Dr Nipuni Wanasinghe
Dr Nipuni graduated with an MBBS from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2015 and brings over a decade of diverse medical experience.
Dr Nipuni later
completed specialist training in Ophthalmology, earning MD(Ophthalmology) in 2023.
After moving to Australia in 2023, Dr Nipuni served as a Resident Medical Officer in Caboolture Hospital.
Dr Nipuni is interested in all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in eye health, minor surgical procedures, wound care, women’s health, general medicine, and mental health.
She also speaks English and Sinhala.
Meet Dr Markus Schuemann
Dr Markus obtained his medical degree from the University of Hamburg in Germany. He moved to Australia and was a Medical Superintendent at Laidley Hospital for several years while working as a GP. He speaks both German & French Some of his special interest are skin cancer, chronic disease and pain management.
Dr Sunil was born in India and completing his MBBS in Moscow Russia before arriving in Australia in 2007 to undertake further training in medicine. Dr Sunil has worked in Royal Hobart Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and Logan Hospital for over 14 years across various departments of General Medicine specialities. Dr Sunil has special interest in chronic disease management, particularly diabetes and endocrinology.
Dr Sunil has a family with teen children and their beautiful Staffie Rhodesian Ridgeback cross dog.
He loves spending my free time with family, getting involved in sport activities with my children going on long walks with his dog, playing cricket, soccer and cooking, trying out different Indian cuisine.
Dr Bradley Brennan obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland.
Dr Brad grew up in Brisbane and now lives in the Lockyer Valley Region with his wife and baby daughter. He has worked various public hospitals, including 10 years working in Emergency Medicine.
Dr Brad has special interest in
acute medicine, minor surgical procedures, and geriatrics.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking,
swimming, and cricket.
Meet Dr Vishal Chand
Graduating with his medical degree in 2014 from Griffith University, then undertook physician training, working in hospitals across Ipswich, Mater and the QE11. Prior to medical school Dr Vish worked in management roles in various food management industries and having gained qualifications in Science followed by Masters in business technology and innovation management.
Dr Vish has an interest in all aspects of general practice and particularly loves the challenges of multiple chronic medical conditions. He is bilingual, fluent in English and Hindi. Dr Vish was born in Fiji and migrated to Australia with his parents as a teenager. Having lived and worked in rural areas, Dr Vish is passionate about rural medicine. He really enjoys spending time with his family and close friends, sports, soccer and cricket.
Jill has over 40 years nursing experience and has managed a GP practice in the past. Jill has a special interest in dry needling, wound management, Women’s Health including cervical screening, Care Plans, Health Assessments and is a qualified Justice of the Peace.
Meet Dr Gemma Dashwood
Gemma was born in Canberra, ACT and went to medical school at ANU. She moved to Queensland in 2015.
Dr Gemma has training in Intensive Care and Retrieval medicine and has a passion for rural health.
Dr Gemma lives with her two dogs and enjoys playing and listening to classical music. She has also rediscovered the joy of lego and now has way too much of the stuff!
Dr Gertrude Callan
Dr Trudie joined the Laidley Family Doctors team in 2024. Dr Trudie was born in Uganda. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree training from Makerere University, Uganda in 2010; and graduated in 2011. She also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, which she obtained from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2016. Dr Trudie has experience in all aspects of General Practice, and in treating patients from all age groups. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, including (but not limited to) gynecology/obstetrics, and paediatrics.
Dr. Wing graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019. He was born and raised in Hong Kong and moved to Australia to pursue his medical training. Before commencing general practice, he spent several years working as a resident medical officer in Rockhampton, Prince Charles and Logan Hospitals. He has also spent some time working in regional NSW.
Dr. Wing’s areas of interest include preventive health, geriatric medicine and mental health. Outside of work he enjoys travelling, basketball and music.
