Privacy Policy

  • Our goal is to provide quality health care to our patients. This requires trust and confidentiality. Registering as a patient of our practice requires your consent which enables our GPs and practice staff to access and use your personal information to provide you with the best possible care. Only staff who need to see your personal information will have access to it.
  • We also use your information for directly related business activities (eg. financial claims and payments, practice audits and accreditation, and staff training).
  • We participate in the My Health Record system. We upload a shared health summary to your e-health record unless you have opted out of My Health.
  • Our Practice uses Best Practice to store your personal information. All personal information is stored securely in an electronic format on a terminal server protected by a username and password.
  • We will ask your consent if a third party Is to be present during your consultation (eg. Medical student, Medical educator/supervisor for registrar training)

How We Collect Your Information

  • On your first appointment our practice staff will collect your personal and demographic information to register you as a patient of our practice. 
  • We may collect further personal information as we provide you with the medical services you need. 
  • We may also collect your personal information over the phone if you contact us. 
  • Personal information may also be collected from other sources if it is not practical or reasonable to collect from you directly. This may include information from:
    • your guardian or responsible person
    • other involved healthcare providers, such as specialists, allied health professionals, hospitals, community health services, pathology and diagnostic imaging services, your health fund, Medicare, or the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
